Opinion: The only way to end cancel culture is to cancel the cancel culturists

So yesterday, a bunch of prominent left wing influencers including the famous Harry Potter novelist J.K Rowling and the Canadian poet Margaret Atwood signed on something called Harper's open letter against cancel culture. This was already boiling since a very long time but the depth and magnitude of the problem became clear now.

The problem with cancel culture is that it goes directly against the ideals of individual freedom and free speech. It wasn't long ago in contemporary history that almost everyone of us didn't think twice before voicing our opinion about most things, even when it came to discussions of politics and society.

But these days, you must carefully evaluate whether your speech could offend anyone belonging to some lobby. And while it could be any lobby in general, we have seen the far left lobby being inclined more and more into pushing the cancel button. The fact that prominent voices from their own camp (left wing) are speaking against cancel culture shows how bad the situation is.

When confronted, the cancel culturists come up with all sorts of arguments like "it doesn't even exist", "its not as if their life has been destroyed, right?", etc. Its noteworthy that its not out of the left's generosity that they don't destroy the target's life, its because its only so much damage they could inflict using everything they could muster. But if we let the cancel culture go unchecked, they will get encouraged more and more until the point comes when they will actually be able to do that.

We really don't want that to happen, we don't want the madness of crowd or the champions of anarchy to cancel and destroy the flowering of civilization which humanity has successfully nurtured through centuries. If that happens, we literally step into the dark ages. Without freedom, a human is like a zombie or puppet who exists just for the sake of existence, there will be no creativity or individuality left inside us.

If we want to avoid those dismal times, we must act now against the cancel culturists, and the only way to act is to cancel them out before they cancel our civilization. Wield their exact same tool against them, only this time it will be used for good instead of evil (kinda like thieving in a thief's house isn't really thieving).

The open letter put in the complain box is good signalling but it ain't going to solve the problem, the cancel culturists aren't affected by such things. This has been reduced to a mud slinging match and the only way to defend yourself is to throw the mud (cancel culture) back on the other party before its too late and you are drowned inside the mud heap.

What this means in practice is that any kind of witch hunt or "call for action" against an individual who has merely voiced his/her opinion should be a bad flag. When this happens on a platform, said people who called for the witch hunt (technically trolls) must be held responsible. After a limited number of warnings, they must simply be blocked from the said platform. If we don't do this now, we may soon see the rise of someone like the Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang who burned books and buried scholars in 212 BCE, thus destroying a nurtured civilization of his time.

Each time you don't act against cancel culture and simply shrug it off, it gives more and more confidence and encouragement to the cancel culturists. Remember who Qin Shi Huang was, remember what happens when cancel culturists are given a free reign to bulldoze over a civilization and destroy it. Act before its too late for us.
