These two aren't the only ones, there are many others in that class such as Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Persistent, etc.
These organisations are designed to create that "drop in the ocean" feeling inside people, especially the emotionally vulnerable ones who are typically unaware of the art of politics that makes it to the top.
Only the most ruthless of sharks who can screw the happiness out of others are able to get sustained promotions in these firms. The rest are doomed to the life of an eternal coolie who must keep answering to their team leads, supervisors, managers, etc. and remain in their servitude mentally and emotionally.
If you aren't one of those sharks, then you shouldn't even consider working in these sweat shops. Not only do they drain you out of all emotions, they gradually turn you into a robot that does nothing but sticks to the computer screen for most of the day.
They stop you from taking leaves and meeting your families because leaves aren't approved easily even if you have no pending work on your desk or you're the least important person on the project. You see, screwing your happiness is far more important than ensuring that the project's milestones are cleared in timely manner.
Once you stop taking leaves and get out of touch with your friends, relatives, etc. you then start progressing on the path of that 9 hour robot which knows nothing in life except to open their laptop and check emails. This is the life story of several IT workers of India and if you are one of them then now is the time to open your eyes.
