The Maharashtra election drama finally came to an end today with Uddhav Thackeray becoming the CM and the voters like you and me becoming fools yet again like in Karnataka. Whether you voted for BJP, Sena or the NCP, there is no way you can feel any pride about that decision now, its as clear as water that your vote hasn't been respected.
In fact, your vote has been played like a football, sent from one camp to another, traded between one power broker and another in the form of MLAs. The plain fact is that politicians take our votes and use them for power broking while fools and zealots like you sit and have endless debates on topics like economic stability, religious tolerance, hindutva and secularism, etc. Fools like you and me take these things seriously and we determine which party to vote based on that.
But after seeing what happened on the floor of Maharashtra Assembly in last few days, I really hope that that deception is broken! If it is still not broken, then there will remain no doubt that we are just fools of highest magnitudes and there is simply no cure for us!
The problem is that politicians thrive on attention their subjects are paying to these topics or issues of which they claim to be crusading for. So, each time there is some big news about Rafale or Ram Temple or Triple Talaq bill, you people are influenced to vote in a particular direction. Now, the real question is why do you guys even do that when it becomes crystal clear that they themselves have no seriousness in shaking hand with the enemy?
BJP has no problem in shaking hand with Ajit Pawar, Shiv Sena also has no qualms about forming alliance with NCP and Congress, then why do you people seem to be so perturbed and butt-hurt about these things? The alliance between Sena and NCP is quite similar to an alliance between the Marathas and Mughals, their ideologies are so vastly different. Imagine the plight of the Maratha leaders in 17th century if Chhatrapati Shivaji had formed an alliance with Aurangzeb at that time!
I'm not saying that such an alliance is wrong, perhaps it might have saved a lot of unnecessary bloodshed in those times, isn't it? But the political career of many would have been over for sure. However, not many in Maharashtra seem to be quite troubled by Sena+NCP alliance but only time will tell how stable this government will be.
Going forward, my advice to all Indians is simple: please don't bother with political topics, just don't pay attention there. The more attention you pay, the more you'll contribute to their power-play simply because your attention or thinking in this matter will contribute votes in a certain direction.
I simply don't understand why are people so much interested in politics when there are so many other things in life to learn and enjoy! Why not focus on your startup business or job for a while? Why not learn a new skill or a language to communicate better? Why not learn a new art like singing, playing music or designing or blogging? Any of these things will bring at least a 100% improvement in your life than worrying about national or even state politics. Even the slightest attention by your brain cells to these political matters means lesser or inferior focus on these other important topics which is ultimately your loss.
In fact, this loss would have even made sense if your chosen politicians behaved with integrity and didn't barter your votes just for powerful positions. But since that is not happening, I simply don't understand why people even bother about politics. Its funny that people debate among themselves seriously along these topics and even draw strong fault lines along them to the extent that they are even prepared to quit friendship or relation with someone with a differing ideology - whereas the politicians who are supposed to own these ideologies themselves have no such qualms about sacrificing them for power!
