Richard Stallman's dialogue with Microsoft and the increasing witch-hunts/media-trials against him - could it be just a co-incidence?

After Guido Van Rossum and Linus Torvalds, the technology world has just witnessed the third witch hunt of a technologist by the woke social media which is that of Dr. Richard Stallman, affectionately known as RMS by many of his fans.

One of the most important characteristic of the liberal woke cabal is an insane surrender to collectivism - either you are with us or against us, there ain't any middle ground baby. An important question to fathom is that RMS has been quite eccentric on his opinions since many years now, there isn't exactly anything new which he said on this occasion. Yet, why did they chose this moment to bring him down? Why did they came for him now exactly?

The answer to that could perhaps be found in his increasing closeness with Microsoft of late. Though RMS has a zero-compromise position about free software (GPL/LGPL compatible) and he routinely criticizes Microsoft for all their deeds, RMS also knows about tact and diplomacy. He is also comfortable in continuing to have a dialog with proprietary companies like Microsoft even though all their actions may not be compatible with his free software ideology.

However, the liberal cabal doesn't seem to get this, they still live in a world of binaries (for/against) where there cannot be any middle grounds. Now, Microsoft is as much of a "right-wing capitalist" as you can get in contrast to a Stallmanist "left-wing socialist", isn't it? So, could this be a reason for the recently increased profound dislike towards RMS by many of his former followers?
